Because Joe Rogan is Joe Rogan, pseudoarchaeology has once again come up on his platform. This time it's the fake mummified aliens from Peru. Pseudoarch is damaging to heritage in many different ways, and the fake aliens are a stark example of that. Rogan platforming this fuels the damage.
Alien fever dreams fuel Peruvian grave robbings
Nazca is known for salt flats that dehydrate and preserve human and animal remains, making it the site of important finds that have deepened modern understanding of ancient cultures – and attracted grave robbers.

Today marks 105 years that the ACLU has been fighting for civil rights and liberties nationwide – and we are not slowing down. We remain determined in the fight to make ours a more perfect union, today and every day of the year.

Today marks a contradictory point: the inauguration of President Trump and the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

America has always had great contradictions. As this administration begins, we must advance Dr. King’s legacy of non-violent action to extend our Constitution's promises to all.

For 105 years, across 19 different presidents, the ACLU has fought to protect civil rights and liberties.

Today, tomorrow, and every day, we’ll show up in courtrooms, state houses, and communities to protect our fundamental freedoms. Count on it.

This is the correct take on Cynicism
I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

If, for various reasons, you find yourself with a tighter budget in the coming months/years (or just want to save/invest as much as possible), remember to take full advantage of your local library — and not just for books.

Does anyone know if the executive order last night immediately stops LIHEAP? My mom just got her grant letter and I want to know if I need to start saving $ for her. I assume it would because it is paid to an organization and not to individuals directly. Legality of the move is not relevant.

For historians/ppl who know history: did the German public who were complicit with the rise of nazism ever realize they were the bad guys? After the end of the war, did the public by & large understand they were wrong? Or were they just upset they lost? I know you can’t generalize to everyone but…

Except that Canada is never going to be a state, and continuing to discuss it after the Canadians have made clear it's not happening sounds a lot like professing a rooting interest for a war crime or coddling the dementia of a career criminal, adjudicated rapist, serial sexual predator and sociopath
