In January 1963 the norwegian author Jens Bjørneboe wrote a poem with the translated title "Ten Commandments for a Young Man With Ambitions". A translation of this poem into English is well worth a read, at arneogtullen.blogspot.com/2010/09/jens.... Foresight to the present day from 60+ years ago.

In an unrelated email discussion the now (in)famous Reagan quote about the terrifying statement "I'm from the Government and I'm here to help" came up. The GOP campaigns on this and that government does not work, and when elected to office promptly proceed to prove this point.

Trump's Cabinet appointments are shocking, but part of a plan. We should be wary of shock, which excuses inaction. We have to get through the surprise and the shock to see the design and the risk.
