American officers know what Trump is planning, and their minds will rebel at directives to take everything they’ve prepared to do for years and apply it backwards, against the allies they have trained to work with and protect.

The Military Is Being Forced to Plan for an Unthinkable Betrayal
Attacking an ally would be a perversion of everything the armed forces have been trained to do.

Might be worth going out tonight if you have clear skies to look for an aurora. The Moon is new so it won't interfere.
That big flare and CME from the Sun is gonna trigger some strong geomagnetic storm activity. The Aussie Space Weather Service has updated to class G4 alerts.

Our day is just starting here so folks who have clear skies and in favourable locations — you might get some nice aurora!

Danish and Greenland ministers just left the White House. It did not go well.
I have a long discussion here of Trump's attempt to get Greenland and why it could lead to World War III.

Bad news: wannabe authoritarian wants to use the military against US citizens. Good news: military leaders did not give applause that wannabe authoritarian wants.

The comments directed @radiofreetom.bsky.social over the last few days about whether we are currently living in what can properly be described as a fascist state are completely missing his point.

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.
