Brooklyn born, a New Yorker at heart, Big time Mets, Knicks, Rangers, Giants fan. A political junkie, an unabashed progressive.
I am watching issues like Trump's weaponizing the Justice Dep't to go after his political opponents, the Gerrymandering efforts, the election of a Democratic Socialist as Mayor of NYC. And so much more

Using the power of government to better the lives of the middle class and underprivileged is not Socialist. It's just decent & right!

Misusing the power of government to benefit the rich and privileged, those who do not need government assistance, is not Conservative. It is just greedy & wrong!

So wave your flags and cheer aloud,
Pretend I’m noble, strong, and proud.
But deep inside, it’s all a show,
A borrowed crown, a borrowed glow.
And if the vault runs dry someday,
I’ll simply shrug and fly away.
Don't laugh at me, Argentina.

It's just $40 million dollars. It's from America's vault, so if you default, It wouldn't cost me a peso.

You knew I was never honest. I'm in it for dough, but if you guys blow, the taxpayers may never know.

despicable
They just tear-gassed us. They tried to run us over in a van holding a peaceful protester. They shot us with pepper balls. They dragged another protester into the facility.
moments ago, ice agents again came out of the broadview detention/“professing” facility to escort a silver suv out of the lot.

one of the agents picked up and threw congressional candidate kat abughazaleh to the ground.

Two wrongs DO make a right. Gerrymandering is wrong, whenever it is done. Texas is trying to steal additional representation in Congress by redistricting at the expense of minority voters. California and other blue states are threatening to retaliate by following Texas' lead. Fight fire with fire

MAGA = Make America Gross Again

"Let's get twisted again, like we were last summer"
Lyrics by Fats Domino, Music by Ghislaine Maxwell
Whoever did this was clever. Two disarming figures from childhood highlights the utter betrayal of child predation. Innocence devastated. Visceral.

Sad that these are the only two alternatives stated. NO! Israelis MUST come to their senses and accept the fact that a two-state solution, with an independent and self-sufficient Palestine, is their ONLY viable alternative. Else, they will be an apartheid nation, shunned by the rest of the world.
🇵🇸 🇺🇳 “What is the alternative? A one State reality where Palestinians are denied equal rights and forced to live under perpetual occupation and inequality or a one State reality where Palestinians are expelled from their land. That is not peace. That is not justice.

2. This is a Fascist wannabe regime bent on enriching the already wealthy even more, at the expense of the poor and the middle class. The Big Ugly Bill does it! Tariffs do it! DOGE does it. And by hog-tying all branches of government they will seek to retain power beyond 2026 & 2028.
1. The BrainTrust behind Project2025 have guided Trump, making fighting them very problematic. This is the culmination of a 50-year plot to take control of government, blunt checks and balances, eliminate oversight, smother dissent and implement their toxic wealth-driven agenda. Call it what it is.

Perhaps more to the point: How can people be expected to trust Trump when he has failed to deliver on so many of his promises? Ukraine? Gaza? Repeal and Replace? Tired of winning? No cuts to Medicaid? Tariffs?
Good question. I think we all know the answer.

2. There were no laws limiting immigration, nor was any documentation of migrants required when the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution. So, birthright citizenship is open to interpretation. SCOTUS could place limits (e.g. parental residency for a time certain) for citizenship to apply.
July 1, 2025 at 7:50 PM
1. The SCOTUS decision does not address the issue of birthright citizenship. It merely limits the scope of application of the rulings of lower court judges, so that they do not affect individuals in other jurisdictions. The issue itself is complex. I will address it in an ensuing post.

Current intel indicates that Iranian nuclear sites were NOT obliterated at all. They say Iran can rebuild its nuclear program in a matter of months. Was this war necessary? Loss of Israeli and Iranian lives need not have been lost if diplomacy was followed from the start.
For those unconditionally cheering the attacks on Iran, remember that our early strikes in Afghanistan and Iraq were “successful”. But we ended up getting dragged into costly wars that created more terrorists than we killed. The American people haven’t forgotten that.
July 1, 2025 at 1:14 AM
What else would you expect from a congenital liar and narcissist. He must boast about whatever he does, without regard for the truth. When his own intelligence community determines that his attack on Iran's nuclear facilities was not fully effective, he refuses to believe them.
