This grub/larva/caterpillar? Is about an inch long. Any ideas what it is? I did an image search and the closest result was a salamander, which it isn't. #larva #caterpillar

I build this ramp years ago so my dog could get from the backyard to the porch. However, she would sit at the bottom and not climb it, unless I called out, "It's Sophie the Wonder Dog!" Then she'd run halfway across the yard, turn and coming charging in, and get up it in one mid-ramp bound.

It's a weed, but I like its flower. Of course, a "weed" is a plant growing where someone doesn't want it to grow. I've known people who considered clover to be a weed. If I see an unknown plant growing in my yard, I sometimes let it grow to see what it is, sometimes with interesting results.

An Ohio politician wants to rename Lake Erie as Lake Ohio. Well, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York also have part of it. Ontario, Canada, has a lot more of the shoreline than Ohio. So who has naming rights? Early explorers named it Erie as a shortened form of an Iroquois name.
