For the midnight crew on this #EdmundFitzgwtald50 anniversary, I have added more markups to the Newsweek article that gave Gordon Lightfoot his template for His "Wreck of" song lyrics.

And to make it even better, cut the original sandwich with TWO diagonals so you get FOUR triangles! Four perfectly pointed bits to chomp 💜😛

No cap or whatever kids say these days. Tangerine Palpatine cares about no one except himself and is so far removed from the average person’s experience. All he believes is that giving to others takes away from him, and justifies that through racism and blatant cruelty.

More people need to pay attention to the excesses of the 80s. I’m telling y’all, the patterns are all there & the music and movies of that era warned us. But no, so many peeps today remain ignorant and refuse to believe all this around us is a problem just like people denied it then, too. 🫠🤦🏻‍♀️

Totally get the sensory overload aspect, being neurospicy as well.
It’s the sheer number of people who blindly buy into the hype that is baffling, and the cognitive gymnastics to justify their ongoing use would be better spent in accepting and/or addressing what needs to be. And the smell tho 🤢

One part of it is that marijuana isn’t the magic pill everyone claims it to be. There’s a definite subset of people that are sensitive to the psychoactive properties in it which leads to a flare up or creation of various mental health issues. Instead of addressing their issues, they try to escape. 🫠

Movies & music from the 80s are probably the most underrated political commentary, especially following the blatant civil rights & Vietnam counterculture of the late 60s-early 70s. Now everything is just plain dystopian.
