Which EU countries are building the most housing?

Besides the tiny tourism-heavy islands of Cyprus & Malta, all the fastest builders are in the EU's east: Bulgaria (6.3/1k ppl), Poland (6.1), & Croatia (5.7)

The 3 slowest builders are Italy (0.8), Slovenia (1.5), & Germany (2)

Verotuloja kertyi 1-8.2025 yhteensä 57,7 mrd €.
Lisäystä viime vuoden vastaavasta jaksosta 1,98 mrd €.

Elokuu erityisen myönteinen, verotulot kasvoivat 739 milj.€ edellisen vuoden elokuusta. Henkilöasiakkaat +8,4%.

Työttömien osa-aikatyössä ei isompia muutoksia suojaosien poiston jälkeen. Muistaakseni 2015 oli sama tulos, kun suojaosat tuotiin työttömyysturvaan ja asumistukeen sovittelujen päälle.

Ei yllätä! Nikkelin & sinkin maailmanmarkkinahinnat ovat muiden kaivannaisten tavoin volatiileja. Esitimme kollegani O. Ropposen kanssa v. 2019 KT-päivillä simulointituloksia, ettei Talvivaarasta tule kannattavaa. Ei kiinnostanut talousmiehiä. Valtio kustansi lisäksi ympäristörikoksen siivoamisen.

Ensin loppuivat rahat, sitten pilattiin lähitienoon järvet. Sitten loppuivat taas rahat. Yksi työpaikka maksaa yhteiskunnalle hieman ja turhan paljon.

Canada has borne the brunt of the damage from US tariffs so far, with its long-run economy -2.1% smaller in real terms. China’s economy is -0.2% smaller, about 1/2 as large as the hit to the US. The UK’s is 0.2% bigger thanks in part to the benefits of US-UK trade deal.
