Andy is stood with a paint brush, spot checking a painting for stray scratches and marks.

The view is of a white room -white floorboards and white painted walls and ceiling - the archetypal white gallery. There are 2 paintings . A large, intensely blue painting, aview of a streetlights with an intensely dark blue sky behind it.

Andy is touching up a much smaller painting very definitely containing a similar hue and toned dark sky, but the rest of the details are obscured.

TUI UK boss confirms it’s considering return to Doncaster Sheffield Airport
TUI UK boss confirms it’s considering return to Doncaster Sheffield Airport
TUI UK Managing Director Neil Swanson has confirmed the operator is considering relaunching flights from Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Doncaster Council, which took over the airport lease after it was shut down by its owner the Peel Group, has secured a £160 million funding package which could see it reopening by 2028. TUI was previously one of a small handful of airlines offering passengers flights from the South Yorkshire hub prior to its closure in November 2022. When asked if the operator was keen to return to Doncaster Sheffield, Neil said: “Clearly that is something we are talking about. We were in there before, it is part of an ongoing discussion.” Neil, who was speaking during a panel debate at the ABTA Travel Convention in Mallorca, said the airport had ‘worked well’ for TUI in the past. Fellow panellist Steve Heapy, Jet2 CEO, declined to say whether he was also interested in operating from Doncaster Sheffield. “We are talking to a lot of airports all the time, we will consider any and all airports, but it would be inappropriate for me to announce anything at a public forum.” Doncaster Council has been pushing to reopen the airport by spring next year, but South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard said in August that passenger flights are unlikely to operate before 2028.

‘What is your favourite place in Sheffield?’

Inspired by Peter Blundell Jones’ exhibition at the University of Sheffield, we want to know which part of the city holds a special place in your heart.

His design presents a detailed model of Sheffield in 1900, transporting you back in time.
One of the factories displays on the model, with a tall chimney and detailed windows included. A close look at one of the buildings in the model, standing out above a raft of smaller structures around it. A wide-shot of the design, with a full Sheffield from 1900 made from scaled white parts. Looking down one of the roads in the design, with notable lampposts lining the street with buildings on both sides.
