DJT called for people to be fired for saying objectionable things about Charlie Kirk following his assassination. What DJT said about the Reiners is much worse because he's the president with a much louder microphone. It's time for him to resign by looking in the mirror and yelling, "You're fired!"
DJT has said many disgusting things about other human beings - "garbage" and "piggy" come readily to mind - but his comments about the Reiners is particularly deplorable. What kind of man, let alone a US president, can possibly think and then say this in the wake of their brutal murders!?!

Agreed. I didn't cancel my subscription last fall when Bezos pulled the Kamala Harris endorsement since former WaPo editor Marty Baron said at the time that he wants to see whether investigative reporting and the newsroom at the Post will be chilled. Seems hard to see how it won't after today.
Since I have defended and supported the WaPo in the months since the election and the infamous pulled endorsement, I feel obliged to say: this is very, very bad. A dear friend at a Post vet says it's the worst thing to happen to the Post in its long history, and I can't argue.

I'm looking forward to Judge Chutkan doing something similar. Trump's election should not be a "get out of jail free" card. The DOJ will have a conflict of interest in holding him accountable after Jan 20, but the Judge, after releasing all of the damning evidence, cannot let Trump off scot-free.
Trump’s presidency should not mean that all cases should simply disappear. Four-year hiatus may be necessary, but presidents are not above the law, at least for conduct outside of official duties.

Increasingly looking like the announced Gaetz nomination kills two birds with one stone: It gives Gaetz an excuse to resign, which he did this afternoon to prevent release of the House Ethics report on his conduct, due Friday, while letting Trump tweak Dems into outrage, which he enjoys doing.
