Hi, I'm Vex. I make games! You can even get my games on Itch (see bio).

Things I post about:
* Games!
* UI I fucking hate.
* Podcasts that fester my brain.
* The lack of media literacy in anime spaces.
* Maybe dance or poetry...

Read this thread to learn all the shit I can't stop thinking about.

That's right, folks we are LIVE (or in-live??) on Kickstarter with DANSE MACABRE! A lot of love and many hours have gone into this project, so please back and check out a world beyond death for yourself!

I got about 80% of the way through reading these before realizing that the reason I didn't think they're weird is because I've played the game, and people without context will have a very different experience reading them.

In case you had any doubts Skin Deep is a good game, here's an excerpt from its patch notes.
Fixed: mech glass wound bug
Piloting a mech and stepping on glass shards would sometimes result in getting glass stuck in Nina's feet. This was not intended, as Nina's feet are fictionally safe inside the mech. Using the mech to stomp on glass no longer applies glass wounds to Nina. Nina is now safe. Fixed: pod departure logic
Under certain circumstances, the player was able to deposit all of the cats into the cat pod and then force the pod to leave before Nina could enter it. This resulted in what felt like a soft-lock where the pirate boarding ship never appeared. Fixed: swordfish consumed by trash chute
If the player had a swordfish impaled in their body and then stood near a trash chute, the trash chute sometimes
"ate" the swordfish. This was not intended. It sort of made sense and was an interesting systemic behavior, but the interaction was a little too confusing. In this update, the trash chute now ignores impaled swordfishes.

Reminds me of the interview I saw where Eminem explains in detail that the reason people think he's the best rapper in the world is because he uses slant rhymes, and he very clearly doesn't know that there is a term for it or that it's taught in highschool English classes. It's so fucking funny.

Okay I looked up some of the ones they're talking about on genius, and in true genius fashion there are whole verses highlighted so someone can explain in three paragraphs that she likes to use colours as metaphors. How is this girl a billionaire?

Just wanna say, I followed you when I learnt from the Milk Bar campaign that you were a vegan RPG designer, and it was because I wanted to see reasonable posts like this that make me feel less isolated. ✌️✌️

Corporations are just groups of people and holding them accountable requires us to have a culture where accountability is accepted as a social norm, and that's something we have to build from the bottom up.

The most awful people you know already know this and that's why we have union busters.

it is........ frustrating to see responses to this article that stop at "cool fossil fuel propaganda" with evidently no consideration that the meat & dairy industries also have long-standing incredibly active propaganda campaigns? i might suggest reading the article for some examples,

Update: my flatmate's cat is not only Tubeworm, but also Scrungleback now. Sorry but it's true.
hexavexagon.bsky.social
If you go around to someone's house and meet their cat and you're like "what's his name?" and they're like "his name is George but we call him the snarf king", I'm sorry to say it but:

1. That person is right because that is the snarf king.

2. That person just cast an RPG on you.

All I'm saying is "magic is from the sea" is going on the bingo card for my work alongside "paternal figure eaten by wolves".

Over time I'm building a recognizable style.

Social media sucks as an information feed. To connect with someone on a niche interest I have to see the 90%+ of their posts about other topics.

There should be so much value to get out of following fellow designers, yet there is genuinely almost no value in doing that.

A comment on itch reminded me of this idea for creating #TTRPG dungeons I had a while back. I still think its neat and I don't think I've actually shared it here on bsky.

So bsky.. meet Crossword Dungeons!
Do a crossword, use the answers and designs as inspiration for the rooms, get creative!
a how to guide for creating crossword dungeons. Step 1 - Find and Do, do the crossword. Step 2 - See Beyond, find the inspiring words and start to see the shape. Step 3 - Extrapolate, ditch words you dont like, create walls, you contol the dungeon. Step 4 - Draw the rest of the owl (make the dungeon from the inspiration). Step 5 - BE NOT AFRAID. Its just a dungeon created from a crossword, they wont always work.
Useful tips: Metro for daily free crosswords. CrosswordSolver, for tricky clues. DungeonScrawl, for making maps. LootTheRoom - for more random ideas

Finished To Be Hero X. I have never seen anything like this show before. Wild WILD WILD.

Highly recommend if you want to stare at a wall going "????" after every episode as the world-building unpeels like an onion, or if you like innovative animation

To be Hero X is so good man.

Tickles the super hero obsessed part of my brain but also the inner "being a public figure in the age of social media is a great darkness I would not wish upon anyone" doomer part of me too.
