"What did PBS shows teach you?"

Mister Rogers taught us feelings are mentionable and manageable.

Reading Rainbow taught us discovering books is joy.

Sesame Street taught us learning through the kindness of community by way of our friends.

Bill Nye taught us to observe wonder through science.

I’ve spent the last couple nights in New Orleans and I’m so excited to share some photos/videos. I’m already planning next year’s trip here for more Mardi Gras festivities. I truly love it here and respect this city’s history 💜🎉

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

The weirdest thing about Americans embracing Nazism or the Confederacy in the name of patriotism is that actual American patriots fought *against* both of those movements and won decisively.

You’re celebrating a loser movement.

Around my workplace I saw cop cars each day when I was coming to work and leaving. Found out last night one of the buildings close by was deported. It has already been starting everywhere. Please look out for the people around you. 🫶🏽

All groups are political. Your book club. Your knitting group. Your gardening collective. The companies from which you buy your food, clothes, entertainment. The place you work out. Right now, in this cultural moment, anything you can do in the groups you're in contact with makes a difference.

In about 3 weeks I will have been celibate for a year. Taking a step back from casual hookups was something I needed, and I’m still thinking about whether I will continue to be celibate for a certain period after. I’ve been loving decentering men 🙌🏽

If you're looking for a place to do some work, the public library is like a coffeeshop where you don't need to buy anything and there's a lot more space and you can stay as long as you like and you don't get any coffee.

I love my library.

If you've never gotten a library card before, do it now. Even if you don't intend to use it, librarians will need all the support they can get for the foreseeable future.

They're an invaluable community resource of literature and far more.

The way the frontal lobe development truly HITS in the mid-to-late twenties 😮‍💨 the way I have been so serious about all of my decisions regarding my health and finances for the last year or so, and the last few months even more serious! I don’t wanna play around anymore.

In the words of Kendrick. "We gon be alright" ya'll, we already survived this dude before and a pandemic. 🤷‍♀️ Call me crazy but how many times have we survived: "Old white man that doesn't care about black people." A lot. Let's be for real.
