I am not FROM Quebec, but where I grew up in Canada we were taught it was "keh-beck". The "Cue-beck" or "Kwah-beck" was a sure sign you were from out of town.

If you're putting all of your cards on the table on a concept and it's going to spell disaster for you, your family, and your team if it doesn't turn into a huge success, you're putting yourself in an extremely HIGH risk scenario that may not pan out even if you have a great experience and concept.

This video that articulates a lot of discussions I had in publishing with devs that were taking wild swings and missing the important stuff. I will reiterate that no course of action offers a guaranteed success, and you should work within the boundaries of acceptable risk for YOUR situation.

Great video on how most games don’t need a gameplay hook, they need to create an experience people want to play.

It’s like how lots of game trailers have title cards like: “harvest, prep, cook, plate, serve!” without ever stating a goal of say:

“Make your dream Taiwanese food restaurant!"

They came from a place with 12 other cats so this has been an adjustment for them in a big way. Florance is very sweet and cuddly but skittish, while Ziva has the spirit of chaos in her and several screws loose and you have to wait for her to offer her head before you pet it (Anywhere else is fine.)

Honestly, I wasn't sure it would work out. Florance was fine after the first day, but Ziva hid for a whole WEEK (under the couch, chairs, freezer, etc) before she would let me touch her. Then it was like a switch flipped, and they've both been incredibly needy and affectionate.

Well, not a post I expected to make so soon, but... here's Florance and Ziva. They came from a friend of Rick's who fosters, and are both very young, dumb, sweet, and soft.

I miss Rusty so so so much and the house has been so quiet and lonely. Sometimes the universe just decides it's time for you.
