Yes, sort of? There’s a group of scorpions with fragile tails that break off like a lizard’s so they can escape predators. But the anus goes with it so they basically just poop inside the remaining tail stump until they die. It’s not mandatory, like it is with Demodex, but it’s reasonably common?

One of many things that lives in my head rent free was a dude posting on reddit to ask if Soylent was perfectly engineered for only what his body needed, why was he still pooping? He was very pro-Soylent, just curious.

Yup. My husband lived on shakes after getting major dental surgery and you have never seen a man attack solid food with such passion when he was cleared for it.

This is true and they are super endangered by poachers who shovel them up by the hundreds and sell them at flea markets and shit. You should not buy the plants and if you happen to kick the poacher in the shins on accident, no one will hear about it from me.

still amazing to me the number of movies, games, etc. which have Venus Flytrap-based creatures in some form compared to the actual native range of Venus Flytrap, which is like, the great untamed jungles of a few wet pine savannas in North Carolina

Friends, some advice if you plan on spending time outside in an animal costume, sharing for no particular reason:

-You will sweat a lot more than you think. Have water/snacks

-You cannot move well (the Left Shark guy is a trained experienced professional dancer). Don’t run or you’ll trip and fall.
