I’m going to say it again, generative AI and the push for it to be used in every Avenue of learning and education is because generative AI literally is a weapon for knowledge destruction not a knowledge creation tool and silicon valleys goal is to monetize and gate off all of human knowledge

My final project is a unit called “I Hear America Singing.”

My research claim is that Clint Smith’s “Counting Descent” is inspired by/in conversation with the poetry of Whitman and Hughes and creates and defines the poetic American ‘voice’ of its time period in the same ways.

Now an autopsy reportedly concludes that he suffered extensive blunt force trauma across his body before he died, meaning he was beaten before he was lynched.

"What is your source, and what are its biases? How accurate is the information?" Is something that everyone should be asking, chatbot or no.

I feel like that's been forgotten, for both news & scholarly or general research. We showed our work in school for a reason. Skipping it's bad for our health.

I know that means learning takes more time, but only passively consuming adapted information is a dangerous way to live and it’s no way to actually learn.

I think we have to start teaching information from AI as a type of adaptation. The information you get isn’t first hand: it’s all filtered through an algorithm’s lens, and it’s important to interrogate the algorithm and the lens if you want to learn something.

I cannot call myself a thoughtful and responsible educator, scholar, mentor, parent, or community member if I’m unwilling to reflect on my own media consumption and how my own biases shield me from seeing how the folks I admire really show up for vulnerable communities.

eyes to the way she doesn’t use her immense privilege to do the most good and I listen to them and I reflect on myself and how the art I consume can do harm to the very issues I fight for every single day, especially as a Black educator in Texas.
