One of these days we're gonna have to reckon with the fact that "money that I spend which does not directly benefit me is a waste" is a popular sentiment.
I think we should state plainly that this is selfish on its face.

We reviewed our relationship today and cancelled Prime immediately and had them refund the remainder of the year. It's all cheap junk these days anyway. Choosing to support Canadian places like Shopper+ and Well.ca more this year, and of course supporting local first and foremost.

Relevant. I bought a Radon tester last year (Airthings) and was surprised to find our own basement, where we spend most of our time, is on the cusp of an average level where remediation is needed.

So it seems like this is the place to be as we work to abandon or lessen our use of Meta products now? Liking what I see so far. I'm even hosting my own federated PDS so I truly own my own data - like, my BlueSky account is on the server in my basement. That needs to be the future of social media!
