Folks sometimes forget that people resisting fascism do sometimes break laws, and that we shouldn't want them locked up for it. If someone on our side films an incident where someone breaks a law for the greater good, law enforcement doesn't necessarily get the unedited footage.

And like your right to remain silent, anything they record can and will be used against you. If it benefits you, you'll never see it.

I don't understand why anyone thinks body cams actually prevent misconduct.
An innocent person was charged with a violent felony for more than a year based on that misconduct.

As is often true, simply having the BWC did nothing to prevent the officer's misconduct in the moment.

Body cam isn't going to deter ICE agents who record their crimes on their phones for fun.

The worst aspect of the current shit reformers is they aren't even pushing reforms. They are pushing for laws and policies that already exist right now and for many years now. None of this is new or changes anything. ICE is literally violating it all. This is reform without the reform.

"Body cameras are worse than useless." You're giving money to the system you want to shrink. "The cameras are turned on you, the citizen, not the cop." And the cops control all the footage.
