It's going to be so fascinating, and definitely hilarious, to see who the Orioles trade Coby Mayo for.

If the O's opt for Suarez, I have to say that still feels a bit like coming up just short.

I'm squarely in the Framber/Imai/Peralta camp.

Whaddaya know he was right
One good thing for Arsenal is Declan Rice (West Ham legend).

The Orioles may well have a starter under the Christmas tree. The league generally cools from Christmas to after new year’s. If there’s going to be a deal, there’s a good window to do it next week. The Orioles are entertaining all options

Now we know why the trade package looked like it did. Outbidding! Who are we?
The deal is now official with the Orioles outbidding several other teams who made strong offers for Shane Baz. The Rays love OF Slater de Braun, who was the Orioles’ No. 6 prospect.
Prospects headed to Tampa Bay: Outfielders Slater de Brun and Austin Overn; catcher Caden Bodine; RHP Michael Forret; and a competitve balance round A pick.

An important note:

Shane Baz in 2025 at Steinbrenner Field: 5.90 ERA in 82 1/3 innings

Baz on the road in 2025: 3.86 ERA in 84 innings

Man that's giving up a ton. I guess I need to learn more about Baz before I judge. It cannot be The Move though

All I want for Christmas is for the Orioles to not bum me the fuck out with a Zac Gallen signing

Valdez has averaged 30 starts/yr over the last 4 seasons. Let's get the guy who posts.
King never seemed like a great fit for the Orioles. They're prioritizing players who post, and he's thrown over 105 innings once in his major-league career so far. That doesn't mean he isn't good or couldn't help them, of course, but they (primarily) need a talented workhorse

I know his stuff metrics ticked down last year and whatnot, but Danny still has that sauce. He's a little risky but I'd love to see him back making dudes look silly with loopy curveballs

Imagining an overhauled bullpen:

Ryan Helsley R
Pete Fairbanks R
Andrew Kittredge R
JoJo Romero L
Tyler Wells R
Keegan Akin L
Dietrich Enns L
Yennier Cano R

Rico has a split contract, Selby and Strowd have options.
Here’s where the bullpen stands, with Suarez and some of the starter prospects as depth. What changes would you like to see by opening day?

Glad these boys are back!
The Orioles have agreed to a minor league deal with right-hander Albert Suárez, they announce. Baltimore non-tendered him last month but have him back in the system.

And catcher Maverick Handley cleared waivers and heads to Triple-A

We are being worryingly nonchalant about the bullpen
