So mayyybe it's possible to render in 4 colors, it takes 20% more cpu but two palettes of 16 colors are then free for sprites and background #SGDK #SegaMegadrive

What I do need to care about with my renderer is no T junctions, and also my importer can't really handle N-gons. It's otherwise extremely tolerant of meshes that would probably make a high poly artist faint.

I care not for topology in these 90s projects. Quads for preference (ease of use, less wireframe visual noise) but I don't use subdivs or even Gouraud shading so it matters very little to me if an explicit triangle is needed to ensure a twisted quad splits a certain way.

Started modelling a Cessna style plane (around 600 tris atm). Been a while since I did any 3D modelling and I had fun with it. #lowpoly #gamedev #flightsim

Links Awakening handles this in a fun way. You talk to some kids playing in town and they say something like "I heard you press [B] to block, dunno what that means though, I'm just a kid"

This is probably well known, but I just discovered 3x speed YT is paywalled. This is so petty it's making me chuckle. (Jokes on them 2x speed is already way faster than my rusty old brain can handle.)

Well FWIW I downgraded back to VS2019 immediately that CoPilot appeared in 2022. I'm doing my part lol. I can't imagine that's a permanent solution but SFSG. Sad to hear of other IDEs succumbing to this madness :(

I've been using Visual Assist for decades now. It doesn’t need an LLM and its autocomplete dramatically speeds up my typing in Visual Studio. Why can't people just make/use tools like that 😭

I'm thinking of stuff like Black & White, also N64 games that would auto hide the HUD after showing you a changed value. I guess people(devs) wanted extra immersion in their fancy accelerated graphics

On Sundays we muck about and make Doom levels.
A screenshot of a custom map for Doom II (1994) with two imps approaching the player with obvious aggression that is surely unwarranted.

If flying your IBM® PC got any more realistic, you'd need a license. (Source.)
Up top, the slogan: "If flying your IBM® PC got any more realistic, you'd need a license." Upper half, dense ad copy with headings like "The plane inside your PC," "The world beneath your fingers," "The learning curve," "The Ace in your soul," and "Throttle on." At the end of the ad copy, the MICROSOFT "pixel earth" logo, with the slogan: "Better Tools For Microcomputers." Below, the viewer is put behind a tilted art-deco airplane control panel, looking towards a vaporwave horizon; the plane is lining up for Runway 18. The registration on the dash, N4081L, belonged to a real Piper PA-31 Navajo in the 80s, and the instrument panel is (with some artistic license) what it would look like if you were sitting in the copilot's seat.

Check out this amazing remastered (at 4k!) version of "The Making of Myst" mini-doc! Originally included on the Myst CD-ROM in 1993, this version has been carefully recreated by Ted Sase using footage preserved by the VGHF!

Watching a Star Trek where a disgruntled officer tries to frame Kirk with an AI generated video. But doing so used so much of the Enterprise computer power it had to delete half of Spock's chess program. Then Kirk finds the guy and kicks his ass. Great episode.

The first Peanuts strip by Charles M. Schulz was published on October 2, 1950.
Four black and white panels of a boy and girl sitting on steps. 1st panel: Charlie Brown is approaching and the boy says “Well! Here comes ol’ Charlie Brown!” 2nd panel: As Charlie Brown passes, he says “Good ol’ Charlie Brown…yes, sir!” 3rd panel: “Good ol’ Charlie Brown…” 4th panel: Once Charlie is gone, “How I hate him!”
