I haven’t drank at home in more than three months and broke that streak today. My mood was terrible all day out of proportion to the minor annoyances that actually happened.

I would LOVE to go just one day where no one needs me for anything.

I remember watching Tech beat Michigan State in the Final Four of 2019. I and two other guests at a packed bar were the only MSU fans in attendance. The Tech fans were… not classy. I love when they lose.

I’m in Germany for a meeting and I love it here so much. The walkability, love of fresh air, the food (cabbage! And apples and cherries and strawberries! The sausages!). It is just a genuinely comfortable place to visit.

"Well, Grant, we've had the devil's own day today, haven't we?"

"Yes. Lick 'em tomorrow though."

- Grant and Sherman after the disaster of the first day of Shiloh, April 1862. They won the next.

Today is one of the bad days in American history. Better days will come.

And he went to the hungry and the lame;
Said that the poor would one day win this world,

Took a short walk. I am always glad when I take one but it is such a chore getting the motivation to start. I used to jog five days a week every morning before 6 am and cannot get back into it.

Everything is so heavy right now. Work, Christmas, finances, the general political landscape. It feels like the good times have been few and far between these last few years.
