Truthfully, I only picked up 'Far Beyond The Stars' so I could get a nice scan of the cover. I was looking for high resolution art of these yesterday and came up empty.

I always thought it was a John Eaves design, but James Van Over made the 3D art first and Eaves recreated it for the prop!

They should have committed to the bit. Illustration of a 50s style DS9 by James Van Over. Blue pencil sketch by John Eaves used as a prop in the episode 'Far Beyond The Stars'. One of my favourite bits of Trek art, probably! This is a scan I just made from the Eaves art book (Joe Nazzaro) just today.
