She has published three non-fiction books about life in Tudor and Victorian England, and her work has appeared in magazines such as BBC's Who Do You Think You Are? and been featured on podcasts, including HistoryHit’s Not Just the Tudors.

Bethan’s other research interests include attitudes to health and hygiene and the material culture of historical homes.

Drawing upon multidisciplinary methods, her PhD thesis also explores how medieval children connected with their communities, interacted with medicine and faith, and formed familial and non-familial relationships.

Bethan Catherine Watts is a PhD researcher at the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David, focusing on the lived experiences and material culture of children in Late Medieval England, particularly within domestic settings.
