Years ago I spotted a little holiday photo album for sale, usually I'm not interested in them because such photos are generally a bit boring, but I spotted a tiny detail that told me the album was very interesting.
Yes, that V sign.
Let's check the album out together.

Our movement is living rent free in the heads of Telegraph journalists at the moment.

Join me in being ‘a threat to the right that they never saw coming’.

If you live in or near the beautiful village of Falkland, our director is giving a talk on Wednesday evening in the Parish Church to the The Falkland Society about the current trends in Scotland's religious built heritage and our rapid church recording project.

Here's a pin-sharp photo of the tobacco kiosk at Glasgow Central Station, taken in 1936. All the necessities of life are taken care of...

It's the final day of Glasgow Doors Open Day weekend, and there are still lots of locations open and free to visit.

I took the tour of The Mitchell Library yesterday, which was a great opportunity to see behind the scenes.

It's been a really tough year for my little business.
By far the lowest takings since I started it back in 2019.
I've had so many loyal customers over the years, if you're one of them, THANK YOU! ❤️
Will soldier on and hope things pick up soon. 🤞🐦😊

I've written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage, urging them to join me in condemning Elon Musk's dangerous remarks inciting violence yesterday.

As leaders, we must stand together and make clear Musk will face serious consequences for these actions.

I see a lot of job ads posted here from orgs that are all about how inclusive and cool and right-side-of-history they are ... without any indication at all of the salary they're offering. You are not inclusive/right side of history if you're not being transparent about salaries.

She was left on her own after a hit and run. I wasn't sure she'd survive yet alone walk again.

Look at her now enjoying Sunday roasts in the pub in England

Good to see more use made of archives. So much rich history.
There was the HES exhibition some years ago but was general rather than location specific. European cities seem to have better survival rates. Stirling is particularly poor sadly.

No, didn’t see that, I do find it’s more difficult to see posts here and it feels a bit random sometimes. My timeline can be filled with very odd things.
Really beautiful tiling! Don’t think I have come across Melias.

So blaming you @threadinburgh.scot and @garyinscotland.bsky.social for encouraging further book purchasing. Not that I need much nudging to do so, the mild marketing of ‘you bought this so might like this’ also contributed. A summer of reading Antarctic adventures awaits!
4 book covers. The Worst journey in the world, Fiennes Cold, forgotten polar hero and Shakleton.

Wow never realised this. Brave production!

In a similar vein, have to say I also love this book and have read it several times but never have and never will do any mountaineering

I have absolutely no desire to ever go to Antarctica but am really curious about the motivations of people who take on these adventures and what humans can endure.
Very much an armchair adventurer 😂

Looks excellent, will definitely hunt that down too.
My summer reading is definitely taking on an Antarctic theme!
