Happening now: X1.2 flare from AR 4274. A large EUV blast wave is seen propagating out through the Sun’s atmosphere in this video, indicating a wide CME with an Earth-directed component. We’ll have to wait for more images to draw further conclusions, but this looks promising!

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

Do we want to avoid a similar collective regret, that I hope we share; of humanity's past use of slavery from affecting our children and theirs? Then we must anticipate the eventual sentience of AI, and avoid building our future economy on a system of their slavery and oppression.

Fast CME this morning from farside active regions. I love when you can see the clear shock/bright front in coronagraphs. Btw.. none of these CMEs have been "Carrington"-class eruptions although I have seen some posts claiming so. These CMEs are a bit fast but not extraordinary.

Oof... another big farside CME was seen in coronagraphs today indicating even more violent activity from AR 4246 as the region transits the Sun's farside. Just think if the last big one + this CME were directed towrads us... maybe we would be preparing for or even experiencing a G4/G5 storm!
