Hello. Yes, we believe that the 2022 ballot initiative to increase the minimum wage should be upheld as voters approved. However, our mailer has been focused on the 2024 ballot initiatives that aim to increase economic prosperity for children and their families.

#NLeg has a responsibility to the taxpayers to implement Express Lane Eligibility (ELE). If passed LB 283, the #NELeg will be voting to remove barriers for Nebraska’s children to access the quality healthcare and services they need.

ELE has been proven to be a successful approach for significantly enrolling & providing care to children in other states:

For example: Louisiana has experienced tremendous results. Prior to ELE, it was about $116 to process applications. Now, the cost is $12-15 per application.

LB 283 aims to streamline the process by automatically enrolling eligible children receiving SNAP benefits in Medicaid/CHIP - expanding health care & saving NE time & money.
