For extra credit I ask my students to list all current members of SCOTUS and then take note of which non-sitting justice is most frequently included and which current justice is most frequently excluded. Over the past several years, it has been Justices Scalia and Breyer, respectively. 1/2

Some people say you can tell the First Amendment is the most important because they put it first. But in 1789, Congress proposed our First Amendment as the Third Amendment. And today's 27th Amendment was proposed as the Second Amendment. Go figure.

Just in case you were wondering, an "antenuptial ring" generally is understood to be a conditional gift and, following a failed engagement, must be returned, regardless of who is at fault. Or so says the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
