I've been learning Scottish Gaelic for 3+ years now on Duolingo but my very favorite sentence remains, "Tha Niseag ag òl uisge-beatha," which means THE LOCH NESS MONSTER IS DRINKING WHISKY, and I look forward to some day using this in real life.

When I received my English degree twenty years ago, most of my class went into either education or law school. I enthusiastically chose the former and, yet, here I am, noting that if I don't reach my book goal for 2025, it will be because I've had to spend so much time reading court opinions.

Apropos of nothing, if you use the dollar sign before an amount of money you should not then ALSO say "dollars". It's $100 or one hundred dollars. "$100 dollars" means "one hundred dollars dollars."

I'm just saying that if Trump was autistic he would've been able to say "acetaminophen" in a press conference about acetaminophen, because I'm #ActuallyAutistic and would've practiced the CRAP out of that word ahead of time (even though I already knew it) to make sure I said it right.

This frustrates me to no end. I work at a preschool and am forever wishing our students' outfits were also made for adults. I do make sure to ask them if I can borrow their clothes, though, just so they are all properly certain that I'm an idiot who doesn't understand how size works.
