Laid back leftie in North Qld, Aus. Part-timer. Trying my hand at writing a novel. No sense of time - chronic illness has made it irrelevant. A month is like a week to me.
Here to fight the good fight for ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia and the world in general.

TW- mental illness

The neglectful way Qld Health treat pw serious mental illness is disgusting. I saw the neglect first hand when caring for a relative who needed the system’s help. My heart goes out to the family in this report.

Jonathan died at 28, but a review of his care said parts 'worked well'
Queensland Health is criticised for moving away from holding independent investigations into patient suicides on the Gold Coast in favour of in-house probes that let treating staff review the care.

They want you to be overwhelmed so you don’t fight. Don’t let that happen. Keep fighting. Sending peace and hope from Australia.
Imagine what Trump and Musk are doing that we DON’T know about. Of course we are in a full blown Constitutional crisis. If Republicans had an ounce of courage, they would’ve impeached and removed him already. We must never stop fighting. Onward.

As one of the voters moving away from the ALP towards independents, this does nothing to win me back. What I want most is for the #ALP to listen to why I’m moving away and address those concerns, not to further enshitify the system.

So, this is almost winter temp for Townsville.
(Granted, it’s still probably very muggy for those heroes out working in it.)
When the sun eventually comes out, the humidity gonna be FERAL!

Has just occurred to me that natural disasters have shut down the first week of school in #Townsville for 3 out of the past 6 years.

I wish it had done that even once during my school years in the 80s!! (Minus the disaster part)

Aspiration is the answer. Not just “we’re not the bad guys.”

We need something more meaningful than that. I want a future worth fighting for. They have no vision. We do. Lean into our strengths and knock them out. 👊🏽
