Honestly one of the best reasons I can give you to plant native plants right now is that everything fucking sucks & a lot of it feels (or is) totally out of our control (depending on who you are). One thing most people can do is plant a plant and then look at bees happily sipping on it.

Hey if you are in this heat dome and have dogs, please make sure you touch the pavement with your own hand first before taking them out to ensure that it isn't too hot for their paws.
