Americans are already facing higher bills because of Trump’s war on clean energy – and now he’s twisting the knife even deeper by cutting $8 billion in projects designed to lower electricity costs.

Over 160 Democrats and I are demanding that DOE Secretary Wright immediately reinstate the projects.

The Trump Administration cancelled $8 billion in Department of Energy grant funding—including $3.3 BILLION of funding in California—for projects that would lower energy costs for Americans.

I led my colleagues in demanding that DOE reinstate these projects. This is unacceptable.

SEEC Clean Energy Deployment Task Force Co-Chairs @levin.house.gov & @casten.house.gov led 163 Dems to demand that DOE reinstate $8B in projects that would lower electricity costs for all Americans. Trump's reckless energy policy only makes it more expensive for families to keep the lights on.

California's national parks grow our economy, preserve our environment, and strengthen local education and community.

But now the Republican shutdown has temporarily closed Muir Woods, and people in #CA02 are already paying the price for Trump's recklessness and chaos.

Day 2 of Republicans' Government Shutdown & Trump's DOE is illegally cancelling $7.5B in projects that would lower energy prices for all American families & build a homegrown manufacturing economy. Trump's attacks will increase energy costs not only for Democrats, but for the entire country.

Today, SEEC led a 154-Member letter to Administrator Zeldin sharing on-the-ground stories highlighting the myriad of ways climate change is already impacting Americans in every corner of the nation. We demand that EPA respond to each & every one of these stories during this public comment period.

Today, House Republicans continued their assault on affordable, homegrown clean energy. It’s clear that Trump’s idea of ‘energy dominance’ means 10% higher energy bills & tens of thousands of good-paying jobs shipped overseas as we cede the global energy economy to China.

As gas and electricity prices rise, Trump and Republicans' Big Ugly Bill is set to gift a $700 - $800 million tax break to a SINGLE Texas oil company.

Meanwhile, the same bill denies 15 million Americans health coverage and strains families' ability to put food on the table.
Oil companies forecast billions in tax breaks from Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill'
Oil companies are telling investors they are expecting billions of dollars in tax benefits over the next three years, thanks to President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill.

As wildfires tear through communities across the country, Republicans want to cut our Forest Service budget by 76%. It's reckless and completely destructive. On #TheFlipSide, I'm fighting to protect and expand our resources.

I had the opportunity to talk with folks from Climate Action Campaign Oregon Coalition in DC the other day! We discussed pushing back on the Trump Admin’s dangerous attacks on the environment & clean energy.

Even in the face of setbacks, we remain steadfast in building a sustainable future for all.

Despite skyrocketing energy costs, House Republicans returned to Congress to continue their reckless crusade against American-made cheap, clean energy. In Trump 2.0, our electricity bills have already increased by 10% & thanks to House Republicans' vote today, are poised to keep going up and up.

House Republicans are back in Congress & continuing to sow widespread chaos & confusion in our communities. This unprecedented attempt to repeal 3 Resource Management Plans has opened the floodgates to attack any & all long-term comprehensive public land management plans across America.

Household electric bills are up 10% nationally since January, and in some places energy prices have more than doubled. Just ask anybody who lives in northern Ohio! This GOP Energy & Water bill retreats from US Continental and global leadership, while Communist China invests record levels in energy.
