While the logic of the #quack2 fails regardless of the truth or falsity of the availability of the quick easy layup, it’s doubling maddening as a strategy because the quick easy layup is also a myth. And if you did have a “get an automatic layup” play, why save it til you’ve basically already lost?

if you’re down 3 points with just a few seconds left in an nba game, you could probably draw up a pretty good play to get a layup and 2 points, because the other team won’t be defending that. is that a successful play? or did you just lose the game? i think most people understand it’s the latter
