I guess it’s kind of appropriate that our defending today was reminiscent of our most chaotic days under Emery.

Willie and Big Gabby can’t come back soon enough. Get well soon please lads!

I'll take that. No Saliba, no Gabriel, no Odegaard to start or a striker.

We weren't at our best. We didn't lose. Been a big week with a lot of energy and emotion expended.

Bring on Brentford.

Don't think you can really say we deserved more than a point today.

Couldn't make the man advantage count. It's good to have the attacking players back, but probably fair to say there's a degree of rustiness to all of them.

2 wins and a draw in a very hard week not a bad return though.

🤯❤️🤍
Arsenal have played 19 games so far this season in all competitions. They have won 16, drawn two & lost just one. They have kept 13 clean sheets, failed to score in only one game, netted 42 goals & conceded just seven. And all this despite having between three and seven players out simultaneously.

This weekend’s results leave Arsenal four points clear at the top of the table.

Factor in that Arsenal have already visited Old Trafford, Anfield and St James’ Park, and their start to the season becomes all the more impressive.

Well deserved win for Arsenal. Despite some more needless meddling from VAR ❤️🤍

I'm not aware of there being any law that says if a player gets a touch of the ball, they can then take a player out. If you trip a player in the box, so that he cannot continue to run to the ball, that's got to be a penalty surely.

The way that penalty incident was dealt with was absolutely re-refereeing by the way. The ref has seen the incident live but they’ve asked him to watch it again 20 times and make a new decision.

VAR: minimal contact on the ball from the Newcastle GK = no foul on Arsenal.

Also VAR: minimal contact from the Newcastle striker on Big Gabi = no foul against Arsenal.

🤔

How is minimal contact enough to overturn a decision in one scenario but not the other?

Shit. Will Sp*rs be releasing a DVD to celebrate?

It would be so unbelievably easy to make a patriotic and pride case for Britain while simultaneously putting the racists and bigots firmly back in their box.

I mean the speech writes itself.
So why is nobody writing it?
Matt Chorley, "Are flags patriotic or racist?"

Keir Starmer, "I'm a supporter of flags?"

Matt Chorley, "What about painting roundabouts?"

Keir Starmer, "In our flat we have the St George's flag. I think think they're patriotic. A great symbol of our nation"

Why is the opening women’s rugby World Cup match being played in Sunderland? Is this women’s rugby heartland? A few empty seats says nope.

Wouldn’t Bristol have been a better choice? Take full advantage of the Maher influence?

Awful performance that I’ll gladly dismiss as early season rust. But what a result. Come On You Gunners!!

Not a classic at Old Trafford — but the perfect start for Arsenal.

Riccardo Calafiori's header following Altay Bayindir's mistake earns victory for Mikel Arteta's side against Manchester United.

Ruben Amorim's team had chances, but their new-look attack couldn't break through the visitors.

Still think Arsenal should have gone harder after Eze. None of their other senior centre midfielders have that skill set.

Pretty clear what this one is about, and it doesn't need much introduction.

A lot of people have a lot to justify at Arsenal, and far beyond. I hope this situation can turn into the basis for some real change.

Three Years of Dismay, Disgust and Paralysis
Arsenal have serious questions to answer, as Thomas Partey's case shines a light on extremely deep-set issues in the men's game as a whole.

Huge opportunity that for Arsenal. Small margins early on but that was the difference. They need to use that loss as motivation, never forget how much it hurts.
