The thing is, they don’t beep at 2AM. They beep every few minutes the entire time their batteries are low. They don’t have internal clocks; it’s not possible for them to selectively beep at a time of day.

Look, I know this is not a Serious Post™, but the all the replies that are like “every time” or “Russian hackers” make me have to say:

They beep all day. They don’t have internal clocks. They literally cannot beep only at 2AM. You just don’t notice as much when you’re awake…or not there.
