Besides Oslo's T-Banen and Chicago's L, are there any Heavy-rail metro systems with level crossings on main-line tracks?

From the documents I have seen so far they are actually proposing getting rid of the Light-Rail alignment between Centraal and Westraven and completely replacing it with this grade-separated new alignment.

Yes, the main reason to build it is to enable the development of the new Groot-Merwede and Rijnenburg districts totalling ~70.000 new homes. It would also speed up and alleviate congestion on the lines to IJsselstein and Nieuwegein

The Merwedelijn (dotted red) runs basically parallel to the existing southern leg of the Utrecht light-rail (solid red). It will be fully grade separated either underground or elevated. The decision is yet to be made what design they choose.

The Dutch government just announced €0.5 billion for the new Merwedelijn light rail in Utrecht 🚈

It’ll connect the city centre with Nieuwegein and IJsselstein faster and enable a car-free neighbourhood south of the centre.

I never knew that the frequency on the Utrecht tram on Sunday is half-hourly...

This is on the branches to Nieuwegein and IJsselstein, so the shared section is 15-minutes, still horrible frequency.

The wires are up, the shelters have been placed. It's only a matter of testing before we see trams finally run on line 19. But I'll believe it when I see it.

The Hague has a great tram system. Unfortunately the official HTM map does not reflect that. It is oriented the wrong way, cluttered with unnecessary information, and lacks a coherent design. I wanted to change that by designing my own version of the map.

Interesting to see that Google took the time to redraw the light rail lines in Pittsburgh due to the tunnel closure despite G-Maps usually being dogsh*t at drawing transit line

2 hours and 12 minutes on a light rail train, those seats better be comfortable.

NS will be changing all departure screens to dark mode in order to reduce energy consumption.

They also state that the readability increases for colourblind people, something I was not aware of. I've never been a fan of dark mode but if it increases readability and sustainability, why not.
