Delft once again the best train station in Zuid-Holland and 13th in NL. Rotterdam Centraal not trailing far behind.

I've noticed that our screens haven't been showing the correct information since our departure from Amersfoort.

It's currently 08h57 and we're arriving in Linz, not Nürnberg

In the new Nightjet to Vienna.

Big fan of the pods when travelling alone and in need of some privacy. They're actually quite spacious, I could sit up straight with the little table in front to eat.

Jokes on me for believing any of the paused 17 projects are rail-related. 14 are roadways 3 are waterways, none are railways.
- 17 paused road/rail/waterway projects restarted
- Finances: extra money for the Mobility Fund (the national pot for roads/rail/waterways), incl. €1.1bn/yr (2031–35) for maintenance & housing-area access + €1.5bn one-off for priority projects
- Schiphol capped at 478,000 flights/year

They also plan to build 4 new nuclear power plants although I can't find where they will get the money from as they haven't budgeted it separately in the budget document.

Housing in the new Dutch coalition agreement 🇳🇱

- €1bn/year (2029–2035) to build more affordable homes
- Cheaper & faster construction by standardising building rules and limiting extra local requirements
- Big push for prefab / factory-built housing with quicker approvals

Just think what €19.3b a year could do for Dutch infrastructure and housing projects. Entire Lelylijn funded in 1 year with a few billion to spare.
Most of the money will go to an increase in defence spending. Gradually increasing to €19.3b on top of the current €22b. Most of the money will come from a "freedom tax" for residents and companies but also from a decrease in healthcare spending.

Mobility points in the new Dutch coalition-agreement

- Lelystad airport opens with 10,000 commercial flights per year
- NS keeps the main rail concession until 2033. Decision on post-2033 rail market by early 2027
- Fuel excise tax cuts extended
- Fatbikes: minimum age + helmet requirement

One of the things I love about visiting family in NL is that, while there is not one square meter of that country that has not been engineered by humans, and my dutch family complain "it's so crowded", it's still livable, textured and beautiful.
In case you missed it, Utrecht, Netherlands has begun building the largest Dutch “car-free” neighbourhood.

12K people
6K homes
1.8K social rental homes
1.5 mid-range rental & affordable owner-occupied homes
21.5K bike parking spaces
250 shared cars
2 parcel hubs
Parking structures on the edge.

And the award for the ugliest cab car design goes to… CAF 😬

Not impressed at all. Awful ride quality, white seats that’ll look filthy in no time (just like on TPE), and the same terrible standard-class seats as the GWR/LNER Class 800s.

Maybe the Mark 5As should just have stayed retired. 🚮🚆
