Many species are protected in their countries of origin, but once trafficked into the #EU, they fall through the cracks of EU regulations.

To stop this devastating practice, the EU must commit to legislation that criminalises the import, purchase, and sale of #wildlife taken illegally at source.

The Supreme Administrative Court of #Bulgaria has upheld a Ministerial Order from 2022 banning the breeding and import of American #mink. The order was challenged by the country’s only mink farm which ceased operations earlier this year. Bulgaria is now free of fur farms.

#Tigers are killed for:
👉 their skins and bones (used in traditional medicine and luxury items)
👉 trophies (even from animals bred in captivity)
👉 and souvenirs — rugs, ornaments, claws.
