Guidebooks seem split between it being either because of the genus's habit foraging in and under cover in or because they build nests in natural crevices and cavities, it's probably a mix of both

Pacific wren (Troglodytes pacificus), for how often I hear and see these it's so rare to get a good photo just because of their habit of hanging out in such deep brushy cover...
