@mrjamesob.bsky.social Please please please please Mr O'B can you ask Sir Sadiq to get electric bikes and scooters out of our parks and off our pavements. It is unsafe to walk anywhere in London without a two hundredweight vehicle silently racing past a foot away. So dangerous.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Mr OB, if you like marvelling at what humans can achieve that appears to be the work of the Gods, just take a look on YouTube at the folks who repair old broken watches. It is quite simply astounding what they do and if you ask me, they are not of this earth.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Here's an angle for you. Remember the James Bond film Moonraker? In that, maniac billionaire Hugo Drax intended to wipe out the human race with an orchid based poison leaving only flora and fauna on earth. Turns out he was onto something. Damn you Bond!

Utter utter nonsensical babble being spouted by Iain Dale on @lbc.co.uk about Brexit at the moment. He isn't taking calls it would appear because of 'phone problems'. More like they can't find anyone who thinks Brexit is working like he does!

@mrjamesob.bsky.social The flags virus is the same as racist jokes from the past. Declared by the participants and the weak minded as 'harmless fun'. Except they aren't harmless and are there to incite ultimately.

A side note: I'd rather know any single person off a small boat than Farage.

If Farage saying he would consider sending refugee children into the hands of the Taliban doesn’t disgust you, nothing he ever says or does will. I suspect he knows this. I suspect he’s testing whether he’s at Trump levels of knowing nothing he could say would shake his core support.

Morning, the number 1 influencer that should be in front of the PM is Ren. AKA Ren Gill AKA Renmakesmusic

He's the wisest and most talented person I have ever listened to. (You're probably 2nd James!)

Mention Ren and you'll get calls in from his followers.

It's not just about the awful smell of cannabis, it means if I can smell it I am also inhaling it as secondhand smoke. So where shouldn't it be allowed (Mr Khan)? Outside a primary school?

It should not be decriminalised because it is subjecting everyone to drug ingestion.

Morning James,

Here's the thing with rich people not wanting to pay tax... They are quick to point out that the cash amount they pay is higher than us poorer folks. But want to avoid the subject of the lower percentage they pay on their wealth/income in tax.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Morning,

If Jenrick was genuinely being a good citizen he wouldn't have been filming it and no doubt had a security team behind him.

But yes fare dodging is rife due to there being insufficient or no station staff. And it breeds more petty crime and antisocial behaviour.

@tomswarbrick.bsky.social The way round this Winter Fuel dilemma for Labour is to bring it back but then ask people to opt out if they don't need it. Then nobody can complain and money will be saved.
May 21, 2025 at 3:30 PM
@mrjamesob.bsky.social Labour could resolve this Winter Fuel Allowance issue comprehensively without losing face by doing the following.

Reinstate it as before but offer people, in advance, the opportunity to decline it if they do not need or want it.

Money saved. Face saved.

@lbc.co.uk Priti Patel sounds like she's about to cry on @nickferrarilbc.bsky.social right now. Their shambles did NOTHING for years and now they dare criticise a government who are actually doing deals to get sanity restored.

Fishermen and farmers will now be able to actually export food again.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social What the standard Reform/Brexit voter sees as British culture is an episode of Camberwick Green/Trumpton. Where on one's way to get your newspaper you stop to pet Miss Lovelace's dogs, nod to the Mayor and pick up a bag of flour from Windy Miller on the way home.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Farage is like a betting shop slot machine. Promising riches but taking everything every time instead. And despite the reasoned argument that you will never come out on top, the flashing lights draw weak and vulnerable people in.
May 2, 2025 at 10:29 AM
@mrjamesob.bsky.social Morning.

Farage will never be Prime Minister for the simple reason that it'd require him doing work. Which, as the trusting folks of Clacton will have now noticed, is not in his repertoire.

Lazily spouting off for 10 minutes to a camera or microphone is his limit.

Just remembered that tomorrow is 1st April, and your gentle reminder that any 'April Fools' you attempt will never reach the dizzying heights of Rob Brydon sitting in AS Ken Bruce for his ENTIRE 3 hour Radio 2 show back in 2011.

The whole thing is on YouTube (music stripped out) and is GLORIOUS.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Re your hour about what Trump's tariffs are for. This American landscaper sums up the difference between buying Chinese (with tariff) & American. Shows that the costs will be borne by the US citizens who voted for Trump.
