We have the tools to make the change. Do we have the will?

On October 1 Jane Goodall died and Elon Musk called for a Netflix boycott. The boycott reasoning was over a trans show canceled in 2023. Does a boycott make sense for an already canceled show?
On October 5 Netflix released Famous Last Words, with Dr. Jane Goodall. She spoke critically of Musk.

This year I've been listening to Senate hearings, and I think a preschool teacher would kick some serious ass in the questioner's seat.
"I can see you're really angry, but we can't hurt people"
"It's okay to feel frustrated"
"This sounds really tough for you"
"I understand that doesn't feel fair"

Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

I was just thinking my political aspiration is as simple as “make the presidency boring again.” Glad to see others are aiming higher than that.

This is a theme we keep repeating too. Until you see it for yourself, I think it’s hard to really understand how completely unnecessary and disproportionately violent the federal response has been.

How much is for fun, terror, or social media, I don’t know. A mix of the three for sure.

I've never seen such escalation and use of force toward ends I just could not see. There was no real property destruction, no pushing into the neighborhoods to make arrests, very little obstructing of traffic. Saw chemicals and bangs deployed down streets the feds were not facing and did not travel.

That's a fun game! We played Machi Koro at our last game night.

And the federal government keeps saying anyone who disagrees with them is a terrorist.
Saying it doesn’t make it true.
But ignoring them saying it lets them build a platform from a million flimsy lies.

Just a few recent things from the headlines:
Naked kids dragged into the street from their homes in Chicago
White House planning to send elite army unit to Portland
Feds gas cops and protesters in Chicago after shooting a woman

Was the delay sending the guard to Chicago coordinated with the planned shutdown? Convenient that the admin is asking for legal cases to be delayed because DOJ isn’t funded. Does that mean as long as the shutdown is on, no actions will be accountable to law since there’s no defense team?

Also hearing from teens who are pissed at being obviously targeted based on YouTube view history.
Nothing says safety like showing your devious data tricks and asking for a credit card.

Can anyone explain to me how forcing kids to upload their ID (and a payment method) to verify age is safer? I’m hearing this is a result of EU safety laws, but this puts so much more at risk. From lifetime ad targeting across channels to breaches. I see zero upside. What am I missing?

Carpenter Media, without consultation with our newsrooms, pulled this story from the website today. A heinous dereliction of our duty and a cowardly move from the company who says they’re so invested in local news.

Rep. Sarah Vance announced tonight that she’s organizing a boycott of the Homer News over their fair and accurate reporting on her Charlie Kirk memorial service. Maybe she can get our corporate overlords at Carpenter Media to remember they own newspapers in Alaska.

The American people saw Trump's FCC Chairman Brendan Carr violate his oath to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution as he overtly threatened broadcasters into silencing free speech.

Congress must hold him accountable.
