Here's mine. I carry just three around with me. The yellow book is for general practice (lettering, new pens, techniques), the black one is just figure drawing (volume 3!), and the leather one is my pocket sketchbook for drawing at shows, wrestling, on the train, etc

I think that this is functionally identical to the Shonen Jump approach, with adjustments for locale. Jump is aggressive about tailoring series to trends, trying to make them more popular based on surveys, & canceling them when they don't meet the mark by chapter 3. The machine is efficient, rigid 🧵

Porter/Morrison JLA ended on a high note with World War III. The world coming together to defeat a shared threat, superheroes in the mix providing day-glo explosions and fast battles. Great take on Batman. Good superheroics.

I can't find the video now, but a family of squirrels lived on my balcony for a year or so. when I first put this little turtle dude out there, they were not happy, and were similarly loud and aggressive with it. "We told you not to come around here!" Chill after that, though.

I got to see Aja Kong live at a Kaori Yoneyama (The Woman Who Loved Wrestling More Than Life Itself) show with a friend. She was dressed as Evangelion Unit-01 for part of it. Yoneyama was dressed as a cake. It was great.
