I saw Glenn on the phone & wondered who he was talking to.
He's right, Dr Markland really saw people. He connected with you when he talked to you & he also had that impact through social media. This nailed it: "we've lost The Doc but his tracks are there on how we should treat each other".

Glenn Kubish, a person I deeply respect and who is so thoughtful, on why Darren's many hats made total sense. He was a doctor in all the ways.

The cruelty and unfairness of life is a sobering reminder that our time on this pale blue dot is fragile and unknown.

Live each day to the fullest. Love fiercely. Be humble. Do good.

In the end, it’s not what we did but the relationships we had.

You were loved by many.

Hey friends, my favourite meat pie shop was broken into this weekend. This is tough for a small business. Please go show them some love and buy some pies!

I finally looked into the risks of riding a bike through wildfire smoke, and, folks, it ain't good. (No, cartoonishly large heads are not one of the risks)

May 10, 1919 • Edmonton Journal Bicycle Race

Photo of the top place finishers of the Edmonton Journal Bicycle Race, including winner Dan Carrigan (no.31) on the far left, who finished the 6.5 mile jaunt in 22 minutes.

Sixty-six entrants began the race at 3:30 with official starter, Mayor Joseph Clarke. It was likely the first race of its kind in Edmonton that became a spring tradition over the next few years.

The racecourse included heading west along Jasper Avenue traveling as far as 124 street, then north to 118 Avenue and back towards downtown via Portage Avenue (Kingsway), finishing where they started near 101 Street and 102 Avenue.

Photographed in front of the Edmonton Journal (southwest corner of the Tegler Building, 10127-101 Street), before they moved to their new building in 1921.
