I think this is a pretty common story; trans people being able to find each other and information to figure themselves out and how to transition has been an overwhelmingly positive thing for us.

I think figuring out I was trans counts? I followed a trail of links in Reddit posts and comments to a Medium blog where somehow this trans woman had described my life and my deepest secret exactly.

Probably not exaggerating to say I would not have transitioned but for social media

IDK what that Texas gulf coast region is supposed to be. Putting Houston on the line between the LA gulf region and the Texas Triangle region would be fine but it really is not different enough from Dallas/Austin to be in its own region.

Texas needs work but not that; the supposed big differences between Austin, Dallas, and Houston are mainly hallucinated by the hubris of each city's residents and they are far more like each other than they are different. And Corpus Christi is closer to South Texas than Houston.

Spanberger is crushing in Virginia without abandoning trans people. Andy Beshear won in Kentucky in 2022 while vocally defending trans kids. If you think this is an issue that swings elections against Democrats, you are simply wrong on the facts. There is no excuse to lend your rhetoric to bigots.

The guy found a correlation between enjoying the thought of oneself as a woman and identifying as a woman and assumed the first caused the second when it is actually just endogenous.

I'm not sure if it's the foundation but it is a major blindspot. Blanchard, being himself a gay misogynist, did not even conceive that other people who identify as women, namely cis women, might also exhibit the same trait. Which they do and debunks the whole thing.

Medical institutions treat trans people as a population to surveil, manage, and dissect, rather than as people to assist or treat with basic dignity.

Oslo University Hospital caught using trans patients' journals for research purposes:
- Without the patients' consent to participate in research
- Affecting minors
- 1700 of them
- Taking highly sensitive information from said journals

This is a HUGE breach.

it really is astounding that the 80s, 90s and early 2000s were spent on this unrelenting campaign to stop teenagers drinking, having sex and doing drugs but when it finally starts working then millenials and gen X start freaking out about it in a way that is clearly just pure projection. incredible.
