Back in college I did a one page test for this comic idea I had. It surrounded a buck who died in a bog and got his spirit trapped there, and his subsequent relationship with his old herd.

I have trouble letting go of ideas I never got to finish but who knows if I’ll ever go back to it.

Cool things I learned too:

- they changed Blackfoot’s name to Blackstep so it wasn’t the same as an indigenous tribe name

- they made the decision on Ravenpaw & Barley being explicitly mates in the book & didn’t let anyone steamroll it

- Cloudtail was both of their favorite cat to draw
