I am absolutely shocked to learn that the Tren de Aragua association was, in fact, completely made up bullshit. This has never happened before.

FWIW I do believe a purgatory for Marco Rubio consisting of him personally reliving every single death his USAID cuts caused would be appropriate.

TBH Rittenhouse is just a very misguided kid who's gone a bit wacko due to the pressure he's been under, he's still salvageable. But yeah, I still hope for universal salvation, but then I look at Stephen Miller and I have to remind myself that for God anything is possible...

Yeah, but as you mention, we have those positive example. Being an outsider, I haven't even heard of Chris van Hollen before the Abrego Garcia debacle. But he's continued to prove himself as an excellent public servant.

I'm so seriously sick and tired of all the "my opinion is whatever comes up as the majority opinion in public polls" people.

I don't see it as defeatism, really. Just a reminder not to get provoked.

Nope, as we all know, denying communion only applies to politicians who won't back an abortion ban, not to people who violate every other commandment publicly.

I know :/ it's mostly a rhetorical question. But watching entire governments engage in such completely self-destructive behavior is just sad.
January 9, 2026 at 11:42 AM
Why are they all so stupid? :(
January 9, 2026 at 11:32 AM
Stupid question - have any of the media-publicized people that they claimed to be TdA *actually* turned out to be TdA? Because I feel like it's been a lie every single time.

Seriously, they could come up with another gang name, even the most gullible MAGA people will at some point start to wonder if there is exactly one dangerous South American gang operating in the US that all people shot at or otherwise harassed by ICE conveniently belong to.

Ah, the classics.

"The row threatens to deepen a rift with the US over free speech."

This, coincidentally, says everything there is to say about what "free speech" means to those freaks.

It means exactly the freedom to produce deepfakes, CSAM, assault people and otherwise make their lives miserable.

Those are in no way specific to Hungary, we know them in Poland too, I guess they're common to all countries of the former Soviet block.

Arabia Saudyjska.
January 8, 2026 at 4:42 PM
Yup. Even Bari Weiss knows that nobody but the MAGA trolls will view this as justified self-defense. If she wants to defend her "bothsideism", this is the maximum she can give in to the government. You know, they murdered a woman in cold blood and lied about it, but he said "fuck" on public TV.

Czy to taki nowy odpowiednik "stanowczego zaniepokojenia"?
January 8, 2026 at 1:22 PM
Yes, that's what they intend to cause. They'd prefer lethal weaponry, they but haven't gotten to that point yet.
January 8, 2026 at 12:40 PM
Of course. Authoritarian tactics 101.

They murdered her because she dared to film them and it annoyed them. It's that simple. They tried to do the same in Chicago and almost succeeded, but the victim lived.

Those people have the same mentality as the Russian soldiers joking about murdering people in Ukraine. Bloodlust above all.
