A square image split into three spaces. In the very middle is a green box with the text "IllustratedJai Commissions" written on it by hand. The top left has a "chibi" style drawing of a woman with grey hair and a speech bubble with a heart on it sitting on a hill. It is labelled "SLFP - Silly little fat people - £45-60". The top right has a drawing of a cartoon sloth standing on two feet wearing a fantasy or mideaval bard costume. It is labelled "Sloths and other animals - £30-40". The bottom box takes up the full width of the square. In it are two much more detailed drawings. On the left is a drawing of a person with fire for hair doing fire magic in a style most reminiscent of western comic books. On the right is a drawing of a drow dancing in front of a stone wall and flowers in a style reminiscent of Alphons Mucha and Art Nouveau. This box is labelled "Everything else - Price handled case by case - Minimum £15/hr. Most other work: £60+. Art Nouveau: £100+."

A formline design where the base shape is the mask of Hornet from Hollow Knight. Inside the mask is the formline designs- the torso of a spider across the lower face area, clutching an egg with infection droplets trailing down beneath the eyes. On the mask's left horn is a butterfly trailing upwards, with a chrysalis at the tip. On the mask's right horn is a hornet trailing upwards, with a larvae at the tip. The mask is off-white/pale yellow, and the formline designs range in shades from a light orange at the bottom, to a pale to dark salmon in the middle, to a bright red at the top.

Honestly, the best way to make an artist’s day is by being very specific about what you like about a piece. Geek out a lil. Gush over how they use line, color, texture. Every mark is layed down by the artist, so if you can connect with those little moments, it helps the artist feel seen.

Time to share snakes!

This one was a sketch from when I was taking animal prompts from friends to stretch my anthro muscles. (I couldn't find a way to do a snake anthro that made sense so I did a Naga type situation instead!)
A pencil sketch of a very large "Naga" character, with a smaller human character for scale. The Naga is made up of a coiled up snake body, with the torso, head and arms of a woman. She's bare-chested and bald, with scales on her shoulders and arms. Her face is mostly humanoid but with very little nose and a wide mouth. The human standing next to her only comes up to half-way up her coiled body, and is looking up at her face in awe. She's looking down at the figure with an expression that might be curiosity or might be hunger.

Hey artists! Quote with your fan art!

A couple of my SLFPs this time (silly little fat people) - I used to sell these at conventions, but I haven't been back to one since COVID...

(I don't do fanart for commissions, because I don't feel comfortable making money off of other people's IP.)
A watercolour painting of a cartoony version of the Plain Doll from Bloodborne. She has a big round head that's out of proportion with her squishy little body, and her face is made up of two dots and a line. The Plain Doll is a pale skinned character with white hair. Most of her outfit is in shades of brown: a hat, knee-length dress, knee high boots and a cosy looking cape with a delicate pattern around the edge. Her shirt is white, and she is wearing a red cravat/scarf and gloves, and there is a red ribbon in her hat. She has a small smile on her face. She is standing with her hands folded delicately in front of her waist. The background is made up of a grey wash, with pale faces and grasping hands on the horizon line. A watercolour painting of a cartoony version of the Miles Morales Spiderman from Marvel Comics. He has a big round head that's out of proportion with his squishy little body, and his face is made up of two dots and a line. Miles Morales is a young black man with curly dark brown hair. He is upside down in the image, posed as though he is standing on the ceiling. He is wearing a skintight black and red outfit. The outfit is mostly black with a red spiderweb pattern around his neck, shoulders and chest, and a white spiderweb pattern on his feet. He is posed as though he has just tensed up ready for combat. His expression is faintly worried. The background is a purple wash with pinkish red wiggly lines starbursting around Miles' head (the traditional symbol for "Spidey Sense" from the comics).

A graphic with a vibrant rainbow background, announcing "Artist applications now open!". The white text box below reads, "Artist applications are now open for 'We've Always Been Here', a queer history zine. Let's show everyone that queer people have always been a part of history. This is a paid opportunity, contingent on our Kickstarter successfully funding." Beside the text box is a digital illustration of a north African girl with short, curly hair, wearing overalls, sitting beside an easel with an oil painting she's made of another girl.

Everyone: Don't do that
A white Little Egret stands on rocks at the edge of the sea, its wings spread wide as it stretches one long leg forward to step down. The bird looks slightly awkward and dramatic, caught mid-movement. Overlaid text labels the egret as “Me” and the waves it it is stepping into as “That.” The bird’s exaggerated pose look like it’s deliberately, almost gleefully, doing the very thing it was told not to.

Quote with your skull art! 💀

It's one of the #cosplay sloths for this one! And yeah ok I'm stretching the prompt a bit sure, but skull paint should totally count...
A digital illustration of a cartoon sloth standing bipedally, dressed as Gideon from the cover of Gideon the Ninth. The sloth is holding a sword out to one side. The sloth is wearing a close fitting black shirt and trousers with a looser black cowl of some kind over their shoulders. Their face is painted white to look like a skull, and they're wearing big dark aviator sunglasses. They have a shock of bright orange hair at the top of their head.

Someone will post a pic on Facebook saying "Just saw this out of the window" and the AI suggestions underneath will be "What's the significance of the window?" "What did other people see out of windows?"

Please, please fuck off.

Artists! Quote with your blue art! 💙🌊

This was a commission of a player character from Weight of the World, a larp I was on the ref team for. The creature is a penguin dragon, and they were absolute nuisances - but some people love a nuisance!
A digital illustration of a cartoon human character with an oversized round head and squishy body shape, and a large round creature with a beak. Typewriter style text in the top right reads "Salutations from Stormwatch Station". The human character is on the right of the image, standing in a "penguin" stance, with their arms by their sides and hands pointed outwards, and one leg raised. They have small gold horns poking out of their long brown hair. They have gold-ish skin, and are wearing a blue robe over a black shirt and grey skirt. They are also wearing a scaled pauldron on one shoulder and a belt with many items hanging from it. The large round creature is stood beside them with it's beak open as though it is making noise. It has sharp teeth inside the beak. It had four flippers and four feet. It is mostly made up of a circle with those features sticking out of it. It has mottled blue and grey patterning with a lighter coloured tummy. In the background, there is a blocky set of buildings, reminiscent of polar research stations, and cracking ice.

Quote how you paint dark skin!!

(This has really driven home that I need to actually do some proper renders of these characters, rather than just these flat colours...)

(Characters are all from @saranadosfiction.com 's Argentum in Aqua series, which is available to read for free on their site!)
A digital illustration of a pair of men (Sabbat and Archer). Sabbat is standing, leaning against a green wingback chair, which Archer is sitting in. Sabbat is a dark skinned man with long straight black hair. He has scars on his face and forearms. He's wearing a white shirt, black waistcoat and trousers and black hobnail boots. He's holding a small glass and silver teacup in one hand. Archer is a light skinned man with long straight black hair pulled back in a low ponytail. He is wearing a black scarf across his face as an eye patch. He's wearing a white shirt, black and silver waistcoat, trousers and soft boots, and a red cravat. He is balancing an open book on his knee and holding a small glass and silver teacup in one hand. Text in the upper right corner reads "Argentum in Aqua by F. McLellan". A digital illustration of a non-binary person sitting cross legged in a green wingback chair (Anneke). Anneke is very dark skinned, with very short tightly curled black hair. They are wearing robes in black and grey with soft red boots. They are awkwardly holding and writing in a large book, with several other books scattered around the feet of the chair. There is a small glass and silver teacup balanced precariously on the arm of the chair. Text in the upper right of the image reads "Argentum in Aqua by F. McLellan". A digital illustration of a young woman sat in a large green wingback chair (Amelia). Amelia is a dark skinned woman with fluffy dark brown hair held back with a red headband. She is wearing richly embroidered clothes in red and yellow: a knee length yellow dress with red embroidery, a red wrap-style jacket in red with yellow embroidery, and knee high soft red boots with yellow embroidery. The embroidery has themes of butterflies and flowers, and she is wearing a butterfly decoration in her hair. She is smiling at the viewer and delicately holding a small glass and silver teacup in her lap. Text in the upper right reads "Argentum in Aqua by F. McLellan".

The Hillsborough Law, introduced by the government today, is a long-overdue step toward justice for the families of 97 people who tragically lost their lives.

The new law makes it a crime for public officials to lie about major disasters.

I think you should force yourself to interact with art that's "bad" every so often. read a cringy fanfic. play a tiny game. watch a subpar movie. see an amateur play. experience art that's not "masterpieces" because "bad" art deserves to exist and can sometimes give you more emotion than "good" art

The Iberian Lynx population was down to 150 individuals back in 2005 and on the verge of disappearing.

At the end of 2023, there were more than 2000 of them and they have been reintroduced to areas where they had disappeared.

It went from critically endangered to Vulnerable.
