One year ago the London Assembly unanimously backed my motion with @inclusionlondon.bsky.social for a disability champion to lead a disability action plan. Sadly, we still don't have a champion, BUT pleased to see Disabled People's Organisations at City Hall today, getting the plan underway!

We stand in solidarity with Muslims, Black people, People of Colour and Jewish people, as well as the Trans, LGB and Queer communities who are directly threatened and feel unsafe because of the surge of racist and fascist hate speech and activity.

We are appalled by ‘Unite the Kingdom’ march on 13th September – one of the biggest demonstrations of the far right in the history of the UK. We are outraged by this display of virulent racism and prejudice on our streets.

Thanks to Assembly Member Neil Garratt for raising the issue of the Greater London Authority not having accurate data on accessible housing. Having this information is key to addressing the accessible homes crisis. We’re part of this city and the data should reflect that. #AccessibleHousing

Most councils simply don't have know how many accessible homes they have, how many are needed and whether it is affordable. This needs to change.

To begin tackling the accessible housing crisis, housing providers must collect data to understand the scale of the problem. #AccessibleHomesWeek

Many Disabled people are stuck in hospital, not because they're too unwell to go home, but because their home is not safe.

Building more accessible homes means better lives and better use of the NHS. #AccessibleHomesWeek #HousingCrisis

Imagine living in a home where you cannot take a shower or cook a meal without relying on someone else to help you. Or living in a home where you cannot get in or out safely.

Disabled people don’t have to imagine this. Many of us live this life every day. #AccessibleHomesWeek
