Got the opportunity to watch a Ngaben cremation ceremony yesterday. So fascinating to see... They transport the deceased in a coffin in the tower. This was a fairly important person as it was quite high. Then they transfer him into the bull before with lots of offers and start cremating...
The bull for the Ngaben ceremony being carried through the streets of Ubud. The elaborately decorated golden tower with the coffin of the deceased, carried through the streets of Ubud. The whole pricess takes a few hrs from parading through the strets towards the cremation grounds, preparing the deceased with all the offers in the bull and then cremating vody inside the bull. This picture shows the bull on fire.

Felt a little bit like Indiana Jones today when I discovered this amazing hidden jungle temple... I had no idea this existed here and so close to the hustle and bustle of town. Keeping the location a secret though, don't want it to get ruined by thousands of tourists! 😅

I joined the #MarchIntoLandscapes challenge on my illustration account but thought today maybe I could also share some of my travel photos. Day 1 was GRAND.
This amazing beach here is Praia do Seixo, about an hr north of Lisbon, Portugal where I spent 6 weeks volunteering in 2022. Stunning place!

About a year ago I was in Aveiro, Portugal, escaping from a crazy weird Workaway volunteer position where I had planned to stay for several months but already left after 5 days. Sometimes you have to pivot quickly when things don't work out. Aveiro was lovely to visit though!

I've been in Hoi An since last week. It's such a charming town. I spent a month here in 2023 and the Japanese bridge was being restored at the time. It's nice to see it without the scaffolding!

Sunrise in Kanchanaburi... Can't say I particularly loved this town (too many icky bars near my hotel) but early in the morning the views from the raft I was staying on were magnificent.

I'm currently in Vietnam, but this trip started at the end of October in Bangkok. Exactly 7 months after being forced to go home after breaking my knee at Don Mueang Airport. Felt so good to be off travelling again!!
