I is for Icebox, one of the many brilliant illustrations by @landisblair.bsky.social for A is for Arsenic: An ABC of Victorian Death, my book on the basics of Victorian mourning practices/traditions. One brand of icebox, designed to temporarily preserve the corpse, was called the "Fresh-ever."

My good friends Chris and Jake took a roadtrip together to Robert E. Howard's house! They learned so much and took many photos in the town (Cross Plains) and in the house. This livestream alone made me want to read REH's bio even faster
