Lt. Aldo Raine: How 'bout you, Utivich, can you abide it?

Pfc. Smithson Utivich: Not one damn bit, sir.

Canada-adjacent.

Obviously Hermey the elf from "Rudolph" is gay, but lowkey so are a lot of the characters from this particular special. Yukon Cornelius is that bear uncle who never married and goes on expeditions to the North Pole doing god knows what....

I think until they got the Devil and/or Jesus to comment, they should not have run with the story.

As hard-hearted as the Canadian Shield. With less mercy than a swarm of black flies in June.

He'll still lose, but politically it's shrewd. Costs him nothing to say this.

I was a docent/tour-guide at the 9/11 WTC Museum for a few years - before the memorial formally opened. They wanted us to call a staircase, "the Survivors' Staircase", and had a name I forget for a tree.

I turned in my tour ID.

I suspect it was about the time the military started giving marketing names for military operations. Instead of "Torch", "Husky", or "Overlord", you get "Desert Storm", "Enduring Freedom", and other such bullsh*t.

I've been thinking about that kind of naming thing for a while.

I know in WW2, there were "Gold Star" parents, but when did it become a 'thing' - during Reagan admin? Is there a name for it? It makes my skin crawl.
