The recent tragedy of Officer Rose's death in the line of duty is a painful reminder that the dangers our officers face are not abstract - they are real, immediate, and life-threatening.
Right now, only Atlanta's tactical units have access to higher-level protective gear. Yet the reality is this: threats can surface anywhere, at any moment - a routine call, a traffic stop, or responding to a crisis at a community facility. Every officer, not just those in special units, deserves the same level of protection when responding to danger.
