Last night’s #laserdisc night -The Comancheros (1961). I’m not a fan of John Wayne, but this wasn’t awful. Lots of inaccuracies (the guns were all wrong for the time and the scenery was not consistent with Texas). The score was good, though. Elmer Bernstein is always good for a listen.

Laserdisc night! Tonight: Down to Earth, 1947.
This movie was… not great. Only snarking it up (like making the Wayne’s World doodle doodle noises for the look into the future) saved this from being a waste of 110 minutes.
Gold Diggers of 1933 (Sunday’s selection) was better- even the pig Latin.

Crafting stash to the rescue!

The throw pillows I got from Ikea are too squishy to provide adequate support as backrests on the daybed. I was able to grab my stash of assorted fabrics (thanks, Covid mask-making!) and quilt batting to add floof and structure. (Alt texts for details) #fabric #stash
Quick quilting batting between two layers of fabric. This fabric has multicolored cats, but I’m using anything from my stash that’s big enough. Working straight lines horizontally and vertically on the pieces, spaced roughly 4-5 inches apart. After sewing two quilted panels together around three sides, clipping the corners, and turning it so the seam allowances are inside, insert the pillow form. The multicolored cats are quilted to beige fabric with cats and paw prints. But it doesn’t matter! Nobody will see it! Insert the now poofier pillow form into the outer cover. This is a 26” pillow and a gray cover. Stack of throw pillows on a hardwood floor. Two pillows are gray, one is yellow. One large pillow down, two more to go. Plus two more 20” pillows and two rectangles.

We have been updating our tv/home theater space, from a 15+ year old tv that only 75% worked (half the screen was fuzzy), to smart tv with assorted players, amps, and 7.1 channel surround sound.

Getting ahead with my sign for protests this weekend.

I was going to use red for “fascist,” in a classic color combo. And then I realized that the T at the end was perfect for a minimalist Dementia Don, and that meant I needed to use orange.
